Indianapolis Sports

Indianapolis is known as the Amateur Sports Capital of the World and the Racing Capital of the World, and this is why we have reserved an entire section of this site for Indianapolis sports. Sports is a very, very big thing in Indianapolis. Not only is Indianapolis home to the NFL's Colts, it is also host to the NBA's Pacers, the WNBA's Fever, the IL's Indianapolis Indians, the USHL's Indiana Ice and the MWHL's Indiana Trax. If that does not impress you, we're going to have to mention that the headquarters of the NCAA and the NFHS are also in Indianapolis, on top of the ten professional sports teams and two collegiate teams based there. So yeah, Indianapolis sports are a really big thing, a defining feature of the city's culture.

So it's not at all surprising that a whole lot – and there is nothing hyperbolic about this statement – of sports events are held in Indianapolis. Indianapolis sports can be regarded as a way of life if not something to look forward to when the seasons start. Practically every sport is represented in Indianapolis, and any sport even held there is undoubtedly something to behold. Indianapolis sports are taken seriously, but are more than just a lot of fun to get involved in.
